Efficient
Process-led tank performance
Timbertanks now support increasingly sophisticated treatment duties for water, waste, and process streams.
Continuous research and development has extended the original Timbertank concept well beyond potable water. We regularly work alongside engineers and design consultants to match liner selection, geometry, and detailing to the process.
Project approach
Designed around treatment performance, site realities, and long-term operating value.
Biodigesters
that recover value
Timbertanks are increasingly used in biodigester systems to capture and store biogas produced during sewage and effluent treatment. The tank stores methane-rich gas so it can be returned to the digestor as heating fuel or used within a wider energy-recovery process.
That closed-loop approach improves treatment economics while turning waste into a useful resource. The same concept can be applied across agricultural and industrial sites where organic waste streams are generated at scale.
Gas capture
Designed to safely hold biogas generated during sewage and effluent digestion.
Energy loop
Stored methane can be directed back into the process as heating fuel or site energy input.
Operational benefit
Supports better waste outcomes while adding practical value for farm and treatment operators.
Clarifiers
for treatment plants
Timbertank reservoirs are used extensively in large-scale local authority and industrial clarifier projects. Working with specialist consultants, they can be specified as filters, sand filters, stage tanks, aeration tanks, and clarifiers within wastewater and water-treatment plants.
The format is well suited to treatment infrastructure that needs robust containment, efficient on-site construction, and a tank designed around the role it plays in the wider process sequence.
Process roles
Filters, sand filters, stage tanks, aeration tanks, and clarifiers
Project sectors
Local authority and industrial water or wastewater treatment
Design basis
Specified with expert consultants to suit the treatment duty
Leachate collectors
for landfill runoff control
Timbertank reservoirs are increasingly being used to collect the water that flows through landfills. In that role, they provide a durable lined containment system for managing contaminated runoff in a controlled and serviceable way.
On-site construction and flexible tank geometry make them a practical fit for landfill environments where access, staging, and available footprint can all be constrained by the operating site.
Collection duty
Captures and contains water moving through active landfill cells
Site fit
Flexible sizing and on-site build suit constrained waste-management sites
Containment approach
Specified liners and detailing matched to the collection environment
