Industrial Usage
for process duty
Process
Water, by-products, chemicals
Fast
Quick on-site construction
Low
Carbon and running cost
Timbertanks are specified around the liquid, the site, and the way the tank needs to perform.
Extensive research and development has pushed Timbertanks well beyond pure water storage. Liner materials are carefully chosen to match the liquid, and the structure can be modified for specific industrial operating requirements.
Why it works
Competitively priced, quick to build, and flexible to upsize or relocate.
Industrial storage
built around the liquid
Timbertanks have evolved from pure water storage into robust industrial systems for treated water, modified water, process liquids, by-products, and chemical applications. Every tank is engineered around the liquid it contains, with liner selection and construction details matched to the duty.
The result is a storage solution that remains quick to build, competitively priced, and commercially responsible, with a low carbon footprint, low lifecycle cost, and the flexibility to enlarge or relocate when an operation changes.
Liner selection
Specified to suit the chemistry and operating profile of the liquid being stored.
Tank adaptation
Designs can be modified with tailored geometry, detailing, and floor conditions as required.
Commercial fit
Fast delivery, low lifecycle cost, and responsible material choice support long-term value.
Chemical storage
for aggressive liquids
Timbertanks are used to contain a wide range of aggressive industrial liquids including whey, brine, timber preservation solutions, and industrial waste products. They remain a strong commercial option because they are quick to build, competitively priced, and easy to resize when more storage is needed.
Chemical tank liners are specified to suit the contents, while design modifications such as sloping floors and application-specific details can be integrated where the process demands it. Capability continues to expand as liner technology develops.
Typical media
Whey, brine, preservative solutions, and industrial waste
Capacity flexibility
Enlarge on demand or relocate when the plant layout changes
Tailored detailing
Specified liners, sloping floors, and application-led modifications
Heat exchanger cooling tanks
for dairy efficiency
Originally developed for the dairy industry, Timbertank cooling tanks provide an efficient and cost-effective way to improve heat exchanger performance in the milking shed cooling process. They were designed as primary cooling tanks for milk, but their value lies in the broader adaptability of the system.
Cooling is created through the evaporation of water circulating over spaced timber battens inside the upper section of the tank. As air is drawn upward across that circulating water, the water temperature drops, improving process efficiency with a simple and proven method.
Industry origin
Developed for dairy heat exchange and milking shed cooling duty
Cooling method
Evaporative cooling over spaced timber battens inside the tank
Operational result
Lower circulating water temperature and improved heat exchanger efficiency
